The Flat cylinder polycarbonate candle mould is the ideal partner for making moulded candles with clean, even lines. Its generous size, with a diameter of 72 mm and a height of 117 mm, lets you create an elegant, stable cylindrical candle, perfect for decoration or for sale.
Its rigid, transparent structure guarantees a perfectly smooth, even finish. The mould is pre-pierced and supplied with a metal needle to hold the wick in place. You will need sealing putty or a plug to ensure a perfect seal at the base.
We do not recommend using beeswax in polycarbonate moulds.
Flat cylinder polycarbonate candle mould: precision and a professional finish
Made from unbreakable polycarbonate, this mould holds its shape excellently and stays resistant over time. It is perfectly suited to repeated use and allows precise visual control during pouring.
Recommended wick : Flat P3.
The mould is pre-pierced, so you can easily insert the wick and position it precisely. Polycarbonate allows clean demoulding when temperatures and cooling times are respected.
The advantages of polycarbonate for making moulded candles
Unlike flexible moulds, polycarbonate offers optimum rigidity and a polished finish. It gives you:
- A smooth, glossy final surface
- A perfectly even flat cylinder
- Great durability for repeated production
- Simple cleaning with hot water
For the best results, be sure to respect the pouring temperature and allow the candle to cool completely before demoulding.
How to mould your cylinder candle
Preparing and melting the wax
Melt your wax in a suitable container to a temperature between 80 and 90 °C, using a thermometer. A controlled temperature helps achieve an even surface and limits defects when demoulding.
Never melt wax directly in a saucepan or over a naked flame.
Adding colourant
Add colourant chips or liquid colourant at a rate of 2 to 4 g per 1 kg of wax, depending on the intensity you want. To check the shade, drop a few drops of wax into cold water. Overdosing can impair burn quality.
Fitting the wick
Use a Flat P3 wick suited to the 72 mm diameter. Tie a double knot at one end, then insert it through the hole in the mould. Seal the base properly with sealing putty or a plug to prevent any leaks. Keep the wick well centred using the metal needle supplied.
Pouring and filling
Pour the liquid wax into the mould. As it cools, a slight dip may appear in the centre. If necessary, top up with a second pour of hot wax for a perfectly flat surface.
Demoulding
Once the wax has cooled completely, remove the sealing putty or plug, then carefully demould the candle. If needed, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes to make removal easier.
Practical tips and safety
Work on a protected surface and make sure the mould is clean and completely dry before use. Always keep an eye on the wax temperature. Wax vapour becomes flammable from 180 °C.
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
Supplied with a metal needle to hold the wick in place. Sealing putty or 1 plug required.
