Kerasoy 4135 coconut/soy wax for scented candles in containers
As its name suggests, coconut/soy wax is a blend of soya wax and coconut to form this hard-wearing wax specifically for candles in containers. Whether in metal, glass or ceramic containers, this coconut/soy wax stands out for its excellent adhesion, even cream colour and smooth finish.
However, the wax may have a slight waxy odour, which is perfectly normal. On the other hand, this does not prevent you from incorporating candle fragrances. It is easier to handle than other waxes that require prolonged heating.
The colour and shape of the shavings may vary depending on the availability and harvest.
Cast candles
This 4135 coconut soy wax is specifically designed for making poured candles, to which you can easily add fragrances and colourings to personalise them.
Massage candles
Thanks to its low melting point, this wax lends itself perfectly to use as a massage candle while reducing the risk of burns. We recommend our various guides for making your own scented massage candles.

Melting point and use temperature
The melting point of this coconut/soy wax is 50°C, which is quite low. This means that it requires less heating time than other waxes. It will therefore be less costly in terms of energy and time.
Colour integration
We offer a wide selection of dyes to personalise the colour of your candles. Available in liquid or granular form, these colourants are incorporated directly into the melted wax. If you’re using dyes, you’ll need to heat the wax to around 57°C. Then simply add the colourant and stir until dissolved.
Alternatively, if you want to add a darker or richer touch to your colour, add a little black dye.
Fragrance integration
This soya coconut wax is compatible with all types of fragrance. However, please opt for high-quality fragrances specially designed for candles. A cheap fragrance could compromise the candle’s combustion and alter the olfactory quality of the finished product.
After the colouring stage, you can introduce your fragrance into the wax if all the colourant has dissolved properly. Using our candle fragrances, a dosage of 7 to 10% is ideal.
Use 4135 coconut/soy wax for container candles
Optimum filling of the container
Melt the wax gently without exceeding 90°C. We recommend pouring once the wax has stabilised at around 55°C. After pouring, allow to cool to room temperature (20°-25°C).
Choice of wicks
Natural waxes, such as soy wax, often require slightly thicker wicks than those used for paraffin wax. But be careful: if the wick is too large, it can cause the wax to run or burn too much. On the other hand, a wick that is too thin may not melt the surface properly and create a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or the burn doesn’t seem even, don’t hesitate to try another type of wick.
With soya coconut wax, we recommend TCR, ECO or TEA light candle wicks, or wooden wicks adapted to the diameter of your container.
It may take several tests to find the right wick for your container and the look you want. What’s more, when you add candle fragrance or colouring, the wick should be adapted accordingly.
Cooling conditions
After pouring, the candle should be allowed to cool to room temperature and left to rest for 48 hours before use. Before the first burn test, you should also wait 48 hours for the wax to set completely.
The temperatures indicated above are the result of our internal tests and may differ from the values indicated in the supplier’s technical data sheets.
